February 4, 2015, Alliance Neuwirth Leadership Academy’s JSA chapter heeded the call: advocate to the Mayor of Los Angeles for the renovation of South Park in South Los Angeles. In collaboration with the New 9th’s City Councilman Curren D. Price Jr. (a great friend of the Neuwirth chapter), 25 of Neuwirth’s JSA members discussed the benefits of making a gang infested park safer and more conducive to sports related to the culture of the local community…stressing soccer fields for the Latin population and synthetic tracks for the general population. The Mayor received Neuwirth’s JSA members not only with full attention but with camaraderie: joking, jostling, and planning future events with the club.
